Maureen FitzSimons, better known as Maureen O'Hara in America, was a child prodigy. It was an innate characteristic for a girl who was of Irish heritage, that was surrounded during her early years by talented family members and parents. Her father, Charles FitzSimons, managed a business in Dublin as well as owned a part of the renowned Irish football team "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen FitzSimons was the daughter of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons completed this lovely family. Maureen was a great athlete and played rough, athletic games as a child. In addition to this, she had a gift to act. She was awarded nearly all Feis Award for Theater and Drama which her nation had to provide. At the age of 14, she was accepted by the Abbey Theater accepted her and let her live her dream in classical theater as well as singing opera.
