Tina Louise

Tina Tina Amanda AmandaMaureen was a champion in sports and loved rough, athletic sports. Her ability to perform was the perfect match for her interest in athletics. Her talent was exemplified by winning pretty much every Feis award for drama and performances in the theater that her nation offered. Maureen was a part of the Abbey Theater by age 14, where she continued to pursue her passion for performing in classical and opera. Charles Laughton was mesmerized after viewing the Maureen screen examination. He became captivated by the beauty of her eyes. Laughton and his partner Erich Pommer changed Maureen FitzSimons's name to "Maureen O'Hara" which is a slightly smaller name to be used on the marquee before casting her as an actress in Jamaica Inn, (1939). Maureen was under contract with Laughton to make her next movie in America at RKO Pictures (The Hunchback of Notre The Dame 1939). Maureen had the opportunity to purchase her contract from Laughton when the movie was a huge success. Maureen was 19 when she made her debut with Laughton in two of her films.
